I was born in a beautiful little city in the mountains of Transylvania (Romania). My family loves spending time in the big outdoors, hiking the mountain peaks of the Carpathians and enjoying the beautiful pristine wilderness. I was a very active child with karate lessons, running track, and gymnastics. Picked by a gymnastic scout at the beginning of first grade, I was taught early on about the discipline of working hard to achieve my goals and never give up. It also taught me the importance of proper nutrition in keeping a healthy body and mind.
Back home we didn’t have supermarkets. There was no convenience store. So… we lived with the natural movement of the seasons. We picked berries from the forest, raised our own chickens and farm animals, grew our own vegetables, made preserves for winter; we were self sustaining for the most part. This experience was a huge part of who I am and how I live my life today.
I moved to Canada in 2001 where I work to empower people to live healthy wholesome lives! I absolutely love what I’m doing and it makes me so happy to now be able to inspire and help others to achieve better health and vitality.
My health journey started over ten years ago when I decided to make a few major lifestyle changes to achieve a happier and healthier ME! I did a complete turnaround with my career becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, I changed my eating habits, began training regularly, and began learning more and more about health, fitness, and nutrition; and it was life changing! Prior to this, I was the poster girl for *skinny-fat*, weak, unhealthy, and unhappy. I was constantly frustrated with how I was feeling physically and mentally. My energy, my hair, my skin, debilitating migraines, severe acne, and tons of unknown GI tract and PMS issues were all constant ailments. I was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis. After one surgery and being faced with the possibility of getting more and more health problems, I knew I needed to do something. It took many years of taking courses with some of the top coaches and fitness experts in the industry such as Charles Poliquin, Paul Chek and Kevin Darby, as well as learning from working with personal training clients and my own personal experience to find a diet and lifestyle that works! I didn’t starve myself, I didn’t take dangerous diet pills or the latest weight loss pill on the market, I didn’t go on liquid diets or count calories… I used a SYSTEM. Through these lifestyle changes, I have achieved a balanced, happy, and healthy life; and I am blessed to be able to share all this knowledge and a truly healthy way of eating with my clients and YOU!
Throughout the years I took many courses and I have read many books. Aside from the certification you can see below, I have gained a vast knowledge base that I use now to help others navigate through all the confusion and empower individuals to take charge of their lifestyle.
I spent a few years working for a big commercial gym, doing assessments, training clients, learning from experienced coaches such as Mike Demeter and Asim Khan. I realized right away that there’s more to true health than eating bland chicken breast with steamed broccoli and spending 3 hours at the gym doing cardio every single day. That it takes more than just exercising and doing random group classes to change your body. One of my first courses in nutrition was Sports Nutrition for Recreational & Competitive Athletes (Canadian Fitness Professionals – with Lauren Jawno) and it sparked my interest in learning more. I truly believe in the fact that we are what we eat! That food can nourish and heal us, or make us sluggish and even sick. I don’t believe in fad diets and quick slimming results. I believes in a healthy diet and an active lifestyle in order to feel good not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
